Easterwood Airport is owned and managed by Texas A&M University, an agency of the State of Texas. The Airport reports administratively to the Vice President of Facilities of Texas A&M University. The State of Texas Education Code, Section 86.20, authorizes Texas A&M to operate an Airport, and the Airport is to be operated without State funds. As such, the Airport does not receive state funding for day-to-day operations and maintenance and is self-supporting as an auxiliary enterprise of Texas A&M University.
